ShoeDazzle! Your Personal Shoe Stylist

So, apparently Kim Kardashian was on the radio this morning promoting her newest venture, ShoeDazzle so I thought I just had to check it out. After all, what the heck is a personal shoe stylist anyway?

Well, ShoeDazzle is a monthly shoe membership club. For just $39 (which is shockingly cheap) their shoe stylists pick 5  shoes they think you’ll like based on current trends and a fashion survey you take. Pick the pair you like and they’re shipped out to you that month. Don’t like any of them? You can choose to skip the month entirely and you won’t be charged.

Sounds simple enough to me, but let’s dig a bit deeper. If you don’t like any of the 5 pairs they send you, they’ll send you another 5 to look at. And “they” by the way is ShoeDazzle’s army of personal stylists. That includes Kim Kardashian, ShoeDazzle’s Chief Fashion Stylist and Co-Founder; Michael Bassolino, owner and image consultant of Michale Bassolino Lifestyle Designs; Merika Rock, a former freelance model turned stylist with clients including Hollywood celebs Kimberly Locke and Courtney Gains; Toni Ferrara, a premier Los Angeles and New York-based celebrity stylist and fashion editor for LA Direct Magazine and Lemonade Magazine; Jaime L. Crowley, an experienced wardrobe stylist and image consultant working in film, print and live performance; Camille Jumelle, a stylist with a background that includes stints at Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor and work with celebrities like Pamela Anderson and Shannon Elizabeth; and Elizabeth French, a style advisor with more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

O.K. So they’ve got what sounds like a pretty good team now on to the quiz….I clicked and a series of runway shots appears and asks you to pick your personal favorite. The second page asks you to pick your favorite shoe shot between a selection of three which include a flat, a super-high platform and something a little in between the two. The next page asks you to pick your favorite brands (like Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana or Giorgio Armani). I click and keep thinking the quiz will be over but it continues. The next with a bunch of celebrities asking whose style you’d like the most. Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Carrie Underwood are the first choices…um can I pick none??

Well, it took about 4 minutes total and I feel like the quiz is set up so that you’ll get sexy vamp shoes, classic/bohemian shoes (flats) or classic shoes. I’d have to be sent the 5 pairs every month to know if this is true or not but I’m sure even the most sexy/vamp type girl still wants a bohemian shoe here and there.

Most importantly, here’s a sampling of the shoes. You can become a member at www.shoedazzle.com.

  1. That seems like a pretty good deal, especially because you can choose to skip the month if you don’t like any. I’m almost suspicious, $39 for 5 pairs of shoes, that seriously seems too cheap!

  2. I heard her on the radio, actually. Seems pretty neat. And under $40? That is an great price for a nice pair of shoes, for sure.

  3. hmmm…. i am a bit skeptical. seems like a cool concept (innovative for sure) but i think i would have to retake the quiz every month so the shoes would reflect the style i am going for at the moment.
