Pre-mix Pitcher Recipes for Tasty and Easy New Year’s Cocktails

2015 is nearly upon us!  Why not be the friend to host the annual New Year’s Eve bash this year?  To make your soiree one for the books, you definitely need tasty cocktails in addition to the traditional midnight champagne.

Featured below are easy to make pitcher cocktails for a new year’s celebration.  Make a couple of pitchers of these delish and super simple cocktails, and prepare to sip on these tasty concoctions while ringing in the new year with friends and family!

Pomegranate Cranberry Champagne Cocktail

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Serving Size: 10 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 (750 ml) bottles champagne, chilled
  • cup pomegranate cranberry juice, chilled
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate seeds

Directions:

  • Pour all ingredients (besides the seeds) into a pitcher
  • Serve in Champagne flutes
  • Leave pomegranate seeds to the side
  • Top each drink with the seeds upon serving

Evening In Kingston

Preparation Time: About 2 hours, including chilling time. Only about 10 minutes of mixing.
Serving Size: 12 servings

Ingredients:

  •  cups amber rum (such as Appleton Estate)
  • 1 cup Campari
  • 1 cup sweet vermouth
  • 1–2 750-ml bottles chilled sparkling wine
  • 12 orange twists (optional)

Directions:

  • Combine rum, Campari, and vermouth in a large pitcher
  • Chill until very cold for at least 2 hours and up to 1 day
  • For each cocktail, pour 2 oz. rum mixture into a Collins glass filled with ice and top off with 2–3 oz. chilled sparkling wine.
  • Optional: Garnish with an orange twist

Beer Margarita

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Serving Size: 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate (semi-thawed)
  • 12 fluid ounces tequila
  • fluid ounces 7-up
  • fluid ounces cold water (or use 12 fl.oz. Seven-Up or water)
  • 12 fluid ounces beer
  • ice (lots of ice!)
  • lime (cut into wedges)

Directions:

  • Pour the limeade, tequila, Seven-Up, water and beer into a large glass pitcher
  • Stir until completely blended and the frozen limeade has melted entirely
  • Add additional ice and water as needed

Strawberry Basil Margaritas

Preparation Time: About 10 minutes of preparation and 4 hours of chilling
Serving Size: 8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (12 ounces) frozen limeade concentrate
  • 10 strawberries
  • 8 basil leaves
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups tequila (gold or silver)

Directions:

  • Empty the limeade concentrate into a pitcher.
  • Add 2 1/2 cans of water and 1 1/2 (18 ounces, or 2 1/4 cups) cans of tequila
  • Slice the strawberries and add them to the pitcher.
  • Slightly crumple the basil into your hands in order to release the flavor
  • Place the covered pitcher in the fridge overnight (or for at least four hours)

Mojito With a Little Extra Fizz

Preparation Time: An estimated 10 minutes
Serving Size: 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans limeade, defrosted
  • 1 jug club soda
  • 500ml. white rum
  • 10 fresh mint leaves

Directions:

  • Empty the limeade concentrate into a pitcher
  • Add 2 1/2 cans of water and 1 1/2 (18 ounces, or 2 1/4 cups) cans of tequila
  • Put mint leaves in pitcher and mix gently
  • Add limeade and white rum
  • Top with club soda
  • Stir and serve over ice
