Next Thursday is Cinco de Mayo–start making your after-work plans! From specials on margaritas and sangrias to spicy taco-eating challenges, check out these Valley Cinco de Mayo specials and entertainment.
At Sir Veza’s in Chandler, the restaurant will be offering all tequila at half-off all day as well Corona Light on draft pints for $2.50 each. Sir Veza’s will also will have several specials on exciting flavored margaritas. Sir Veza’s will have a south-of-the-border DJ entertaining the fiesta from 3 p.m. until close.
Aunt Chilada’s Squaw Peak hosts a celebration with the two big-name entertainers: James Otto, who had the No. 1 hit “Just Got Started Loving You,” and Esteban, a local favorite who is bringing a full band with a world-renowned drummer, violin player and keyboard. Tickets are $20 (includes a drink), and gates open at 3 p.m. for the 21-and-over event.
May 1 through May 5, all Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen locations will celebrate Cinco with plenty of drink specials, The Enchiladas Bandito (an enchilada sampler representative of the Mexican Flag’s colors with a red chile enchilada, green chile pork stew enchilada, and fresh spinach enchilada), live music, piñatas, face painters, balloon artists and more.
Celebrate at Los Sombreros with five appetizers, five drinks for $5 each starting at 3 p.m. on the patio. Drinks range from margaritas to sangria and apps include chips, salsa, guacamole, corn cake souffles, crispy tacos and much more.
For Cinco de Mayo only, Pei Wei is offering Ahi Tuna Nachos for $5.99. The nachos will feature ahi tuna, mango, tomato, cucumber, onion and cilantro topped with wasabi aioli and paired with crispy wonton chips.
Bink’s Kitchen + Bar is offering a new cocktail called the #7, comprising Azunia blanco tequila, Cointreau, mango, jalapenos and a squeeze of fresh lime. Try it on Cinco de Mayo, when it will be $2 off.
Are you ready to take on the Habanero Inferno Taco Challenge on Cinco de Mayo? Order a plate of fiery Z’Tejas Street Tacos. One of the four tacos is made with the hottest sauce in the world–but you won’t know which one. If you can eat all four tacos and complete the challenge you will get $5 off the normally $12 meal (excludes any happy hour priced tacos). While there, cool down with $5 Dulce Vida ‘Ritas and $3 Coronas all day on Cinco de Mayo.
On May 5, Eklectic Pie is serving up $5 pizzas (any pizza, any size) and $2 beers from 5 to 8 p.m.
On May 4 and May 5, Paul Martin’s American Grill be offering two special dishes created for the occasion: The Shrimp Campechana and the Mesquite-Grilled Poblano Chile Relleno. Also, during happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m. in the bar area and on the patio, enjoy two different cocktails that pair perfectly with these dishes: The Corralejo Strawberry Splash and The Peligroso Blanco Margarita.
In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, Sierra Bonita Grill will be offering two of its popular, made-to-order, fresh margaritas for only $5 all day long. From open to close, Sierra Bonita Grill’s Fresh Squeezed Margarita and Pomegranate Margarita will be $5 throughout the entire restaurant. During lunch from 11 a.m. to  3 p.m., Sierra Bonita Grill will also be offering five lunch specials for only $10 each.
Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Tanzy Restaurant is introducing tasty patio punches made with seasonal and fresh produce and portioned to share. Each bowl contains four servings and is priced at $20.
It’s “Cinco de Mile” at Miracle Mile Deli on May 5. The locally owned restaurant is serving up a plate of chicken enchiladas covered with red sauce and served with a side of beans. The meal deal is just $9 and available all day.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at SumoMaya. The party starts at 11 a.m. with all-day social hour pricing at the bar and a DJ spinning all night long. Plus, the first 100 people who bring at least five pesos can pay for their Casamigos Margarita with Mexican currency (limit two margaritas purchased with pesos per person).
Uptown Alley invites you to enjoy $5 street tacos (three tacos: choice of al pastor, asada, chicken or carnitas), $5 Three Amigos margarita and $3 Coronas on Cinco de Mayo. (Finish off the celebration at their two-story laser tag facility, arcade or bowling alley.)
Visit Taco Guild in Phoenix for $1.99 Cochinita Pibil tacos, and $3 Negro Modello and $5.50 Roger Cline tequila cocktails will also be available. (Make up your own Roger Cline cocktail for a chance to have your drink featured on the menu until next Cinco de Mayo.) There will be also live entertainment your for enjoyment.
Blanco Tacos + Tequila offers happy hour drink specials from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., happy hour food specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a $10 margarita of the month (the prickly pear margarita).
At Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, join in the fun with $10 Rocky Point burgers, $3 Dos XX pints and $5 Cuervo shots.
Doors open at 3 p.m. at Wasted Grain for drink specials, $2 chicken or beef tacos and $3 steak tacos.
RnR will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Thursday, May 5, in style with $5 margaritas and half-off tacos all day long (11 a.m. to midnight). Guests can sip on a refreshing margarita and choose from RnR’s selection of gourmet tacos including ahi, veggie, and chicken tacos.
Sandbar Chandler and Sandbar Desert Ridge will get the party started on Cinco de Sandbar Weekend with live bands and DJs all weekend long (Thursday, May 5 through Saturday, May 7). Plus, on Saturday, May 7, both locations will be showing the Canelo vs. Kahn fight from Las Vegas.
At Bluewater Grill, all specialty margaritas and signature tacos are just $5 on May 5. Customers can choose from classic, pilikia, serrano or pomegranate margaritas, and then pair them with corn or lettuce-leaf tacos stuffed with grilled fish, tempura-battered fish, blackened swordfish, grilled shrimp, seared bay scallops or chipotle chicken.
SOL Cocina is celebrating by offering five caliente deals for $5: Taco Vampiro, Taco Gobernador, Naked guacamole, house margarita and watermelon margarita (both margs are made with El Jimidor Tequila). The specials will be happening all day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will also be a photo booth from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and live music with Scott Hallock.
Someburros will toast to the holiday with half-off margaritas at all locations, all day.
Red’s Bar & Grill at The Wigwam resort will be offering plenty of specials to get your party on this Cinco de Mayo from 6 to 9 p.m. Nosh on chicken tostadas, short rib tacos or fajita street tacos. Drink specials include strawberry-siracha margaritas and spicy raspberry margaritas for $8), and plenty of $4 beer specials. Plus enjoy Herradura tequila tastings and live music.
