Recipe: Thanksgiving Cocktails

Happy Thanksgiving! Looking for a last-minute Turkey Day cocktail that is guaranteed to spread a little holiday cheer? Take a sip of these seasonal concoctions that’ll surely give you something to be thankful for.

Brazilian Pumpkin Frappe
1 1/2 oz Cabana Cachaça
1/2 oz Jamaican Rum
1 whole egg
1/2 oz Half n Half
1/2 oz Maple syrup
2 Dashes Fee’s Aromatic bitters
1 Heaping teaspoon of Organic Pumpkin pie mix
Shake once without ice and once with. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with cinnamon and nutmeg.

French White Chocolate Cocoa
3/4 oz Chambord Liqueur
3/4 oz crème de cacao
6 oz steamed milk
1 1/2 oz white chocolate sauce
Fill glass coffee cup with boiling water to pre-heat, then pour out water. Mix white chocolate sauce and steamed milk in coffee cup. Add Chambord and crème de cacao and stir. Garnish with gourmet marshmallows. Note: Additional garnishes can include whipped cream with a raspberry and chocolate shavings or chocolate cigarette.

Four Roses Old-Fashioned Eggnog
Beat separately yolks and whites of 6 eggs
Add ½ cup of sugar to yolks while beating
Add ¼ cup of sugar to white after they have been beaten very stiff
Mix egg whites with yolks
Stir in 1 pint of cream and 1 pint of milk
Add a pint of Four Roses and 1 oz. Jamaica Rum
Stir thoroughly
Makes 5 pints of grandest eggnog ever ladled into a cup. Serve very cold with grated nutmeg.

Caramel Apple Martini 1-1/2 oz Apple juice
1-1/2 oz Van Gogh Wild Apple Vodka
1/2 oz Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka
1/2 oz Apple Schnapps
Glaze the inside of a chilled martini glass with caramel syrup and place glass in the refrigerator until ready to use. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into chilled glass glazed with caramel syrup. Float a thinly sliced apple round (seeds removed) on top.

Spiced Caramel Apple (created by Kara Newman, author of Spice & Ice)
2 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
1 oz Van Gogh Dutch Caramel vodka
2-1/2 oz Apple cider
1 Dash lemon juice
Add liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into martini glass. Optional touch: rim the glass with agave syrup and crumbled gingersnap cookies.
