Industry Standard Welcomes Award-Winning Chef Pierce Azlin

Downtown Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row has exciting news from Industry Standard, a neighborhood restaurant and craft cocktail lounge that has quickly become a local favorite: the addition of award-winning chef Pierce Azlin as its newest partner.

A Phoenix native and seasoned industry veteran, Azlin brings nearly 20 years of culinary experience and a devoted local following to the team. Known for his globally inspired dishes and creative approach to food, he’s long been a standout figure in Arizona’s dining scene.

Azlin’s career includes tenures with some of the state’s most respected hospitality groups, including Fox Restaurant Concepts, Upward Projects, and The Maggiore Group. In 2024, he launched Azlin at The Clarendon Hotel and Spa, which he operated successfully for over a year before it closed earlier this month following a change in hotel ownership.

His wide-ranging expertise – from crafting inventive menus to overseeing high-volume kitchens – positions him perfectly to help lead Industry Standard into its next chapter.

“I am so excited to be joining the team,” Azlin said. “I’m beyond inspired to create dishes and share my food with everyone, some classics that people know me for but also new things. We’ll be hitting the ground running with menu revisions and a full menu rollout likely by mid-summer. The new direction will focus on a more culturally diverse menu, featuring both shareable plates and traditional entrees.”

Since opening in January 2025, Industry Standard has made a strong impression on downtown Phoenix diners. Founded by hospitality veterans Mike Cheathem, Mike Bodow, and Jordan Hudgens, the restaurant blends elevated, approachable cuisine with a dynamic cocktail program and a welcoming, community-oriented vibe.

The menu, rooted in American-global fusion, is set to evolve under Azlin’s leadership, promising bold flavors and creative new dishes.

The restaurant is also planning a series of new initiatives to further integrate with the local culinary community, from collaborations to enhanced late-night offerings designed with both industry professionals and everyday food lovers in mind.

The restaurant remains open seven days a week starting at 5 p.m., with its full menu served late into the evening. Regular events such as weekday happy hours, Wine Wednesdays, and a soon-to-launch Industry Night complement the menu, with more exciting programming and seasonal offerings expected throughout the summer.
