Make 2019 the year you branch out and hit the road solo. Ampersand, a British tour company, recently launched its Wander Women Index which breaks down countries from all over the world and ranks the best spots for solo female travelers. The study took into account things like safety, women’s rights, culture, scenery, adventure and of course, how Instagram-able a place is, all factors that women stated as important when planning where to travel alone.
Of the 70 countries it ranked, Japan took the top spot due to its low crime levels and beautiful sights to see like Mt. Fuji and its more than 30 national parks.
