Each Thursday evening, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa offers the Epicurean Experience, a one-on-one culinary experience with the Chef Roberto Madrid, chef de cuisine at its signature Nuevo Latino restaurant, deseo.
Madrid invites guests to join him “on the rail,” the exclusive seating directly in front of deseo’s open kitchen, to watch and learn as he demonstrates two signature ceviche dishes (paired with a signature mojito drink), followed by a three-course dinner, which includes a salad, entrée and dessert, each paired with the perfect wine.
Participants have the opportunity to interact with Madrid and his brigade of chefs, ask questions and learn tips to use at home. The Nuevo Latino style of cooking at deseo takes traditional Latin American dishes and reinvents them using European and American cooking techniques and often non-traditional ingredients. The result is inventive, fresh, flavorful cuisine that has earned deseo numerous accolades including top ratings from the Arizona Republic, Wine Spectator, and Wine Enthusiast.
