The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt RS was such a fun little car to drive—especially because I got to test it in the Habanero Orange color. It definitely stands out in a parking lot and gives the Bolt a little more personality than you might expect from a practical electric vehicle.
One of the biggest advantages of the Bolt is obviously the savings on gas—or, more accurately, not having to buy gas at all. For someone primarily driving around town, commuting to work or school, or running everyday errands, an electric vehicle like this could make a lot of sense.
With a price tag around $35,000, I also think the Bolt RS could be a really good starter car, particularly for a young driver. It offers modern safety features and technology while still being relatively affordable compared with many of the new vehicles on the market today.
The one consideration for me would be the size. It is definitely on the smaller side, so it probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a larger family or someone regularly hauling lots of people and gear. But for a new driver, college student, commuter, or small family, that smaller footprint could actually be a benefit.
Overall, the Bolt RS is affordable, efficient, easy to drive, and surprisingly fun—especially in Habanero Orange!
