Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa is getting ready for a major refresh. The resort has announced a transition to independent ownership under a joint partnership between Berger Holdings and RJ Hospitality, along with plans for a multi-million-dollar property transformation that will begin in summer 2027. All 110 guest rooms and casitas will undergo an interior renovation and refresh.

The resort’s architect and designer, Hart+Howerton, is a world-renowned interdisciplinary design firm specializing in master planning, architecture, landscape architecture and interior design for residential, resort and hospitality projects.
Once the accommodations are complete, the next phase of the property’s transformation will begin in 2028, with planned enhancements to the resort’s food and beverage offerings and Sanctuary Spa. The multi-year investment is intended to preserve Sanctuary’s place as a longtime fixture of Paradise Valley hospitality while giving the property a refreshed look and experience for both visitors and locals.
The resort is known for its combination of privacy, wellness and luxury, with Sanctuary Spa serving as a centerpiece. The spa features treatments and bodywork across 12 rooms, along with a rotating daily wellness calendar that includes guided drawing meditations, floating sound journeys and community-focused matcha and mahjong weekends. The upcoming changes build on that focus while looking toward the resort’s future as an independently owned property.
