Title: Elementary Educator and PNW Outdoor Women Ambassador

Married/Single: Single!

Kids: I have an amazing 4 year son.

City you live in: I am an Arizona native, but I currently reside in the Seattle, Washington area.

A typical day in my life includes…

my week days are pretty normal. I start my day with coffee to get me going for the morning. I teach 25 fourth graders during the day. Meetings. Grade papers. Lesson plans. More coffee. After work, I usually go to rock gym or a yoga class. I spend time during the week planning events and meet ups for my group and networking. On the weekends you can find me hiking, backpacking, rock climbing or snowshoeing around the mountains in Washington.

I was born…

in Phoenix, Arizona. I am a born and raised Arizona girl. I went to school at Arizona State University, and moved to Washington after I finished my Psychology degree.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is coming back to visit my family and friends. Growing up here, I loved being so close to many different terrains to explore. It’s a short drive to the mountains to go skiing or the Grand Canyon to go backpacking. Also, those beautiful Arizona sunsets, of course.

I’m listening to…

inspirational podcasts. I have a long commute to work, so I feel like it makes my hour drive more purposeful. When it comes to music, it depends on my mood. Usually I listen to Indie or Alternative Rock, other times, I like EDM or house music.

My family…

is supportive and encouraging in everything I want to do in life. I live out of state and don’t get to see them enough, so they love hearing about my adventures and seeing pictures on social media.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Deepak Chopra. His books have been both informative and inspirational in my life. I feel like a dinner conversation with him would be amazing.

One thing I cannot live without…

well, the honest answer to this would be coffee.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

n astronaut! The Universe has always fascinated me.

I’m inspired by…

setting goals for myself and achieving them. I am also inspired by other women who I see setting and crushing their own goals. I try to surround myself with other people who encourage and support each other in their dreams. We help each other succeed by empowering one another.

The one person who motivates me is…

my son! Knowing that he looks up to me makes me continuously think about if I am doing the best I can. I try to set an example of leading a healthy and active lifestyle for him. He is my reminder every day to work hard and keep pushing to reach my goals.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

for everyone to have a positive mindset and a grateful attitude towards life. When you change the way you think, you can change the world around you!

The perfect day would be…

waking up in the mountains and looking out a tent into the middle of nowhere. Knowing that I have nothing to do that day except go explore beautiful places is a great feeling.

My first job was…

working in clothing retail.

My favorite escape…

is hiking. The mountains are my “happy place”. I love getting out of the city and into nature, whether it’s with a group of friends or a solo trip.

My life…

is always changing. I have learned to be flexible with what my life should look like. I love to stay busy and pack my schedule with social events and new experiences every day.

I’m currently working on…

always striving to be a better version of myself. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow. I have a never ending “bucket list” and one of my many 2018 goals is to summit Mount Rainier. I would also love to travel out of the country more and get my yoga teacher certification soon.

Always…

be kind! Karma is a…well you know.

Never…

doubt yourself. People hold themselves back from many opportunities because they don’t have confidence to achieve their dreams.

Favorite Quote…

“The purpose of this glorious life is not simply to endure it, but to soar, stumble, and flourish as you learn to fall in love with existence. We were born to live, my dear, not to merely exist.” – Becca Lee

Biggest Dream…

to feel like I am making a positive difference in the world. As a teacher, I feel like I am getting to achieve that right now. I want to help others reach their limitless potential, while working towards that myself. I don’t know exactly what that will look like in a few years, but I welcome all the new opportunities that will help me achieve that dream.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

when people chew loudly, or don’t use their manners.
