City you live in: Tempe, Arizona

A typical day in my life includes…

OOF! Well lately every day is very different but here’s a normal Tuesday for me…

9 am: HIIT class at F45

10 am: shower/ make a yummy breakfast (usually avo toast with an over medium egg topped with feta and a bunch of veggies)

12:00 pm -1:15 pm: class

1:30pm – 3:30 pm: homework

4:00 pm – 8:00 pm: work at F45! Really obsessed with my job just because my coworkers are so awesome!

8:30 pm – 11:00 pm: dinner and more homework

12:00 am: attempt to sleep? If my cat doesn’t decide it wants to use my apartment as an obstacle course and knock every 🙂 single:) thing 🙂 off 🙂 my 🙂 counters 🙂

I was born…

I was actually born in Monterrey, Mexico and my family immigrated to Minnesota when I was just a little under 6! After I graduated high school I decided I was sick of the cold and moved down to Arizona to go to college.

 My favorite thing about Arizona…

the palm trees. I am OBSESSED with them. The day I own a house I want one big ol’ palm tree in my yard. Or ten.

I’m listening to…

Kehlani on repeat! Literally anything this woman sings comes out as art. I bet she could sing the words “Brussel sprouts’ on repeat and it would be a hit. Can you tell I’m a huge fan?

My family…

is everything to me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them and are constantly my biggest supporters.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Barack Obama!!! I feel that he would have some really interesting stories and life advice.

One thing I cannot live without…

my big oversized lilac-pink hoodie and my fluffy dog slippers.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a chef! I managed to give myself third-degree burns more than once because I was determined to make the perfect caramel sauce for my flan. What normal 10-year-old aspires to make the perfect caramel sauce for her flan?

I’m inspired by…

I guess if I’m completely honest there is not one specific person that I am inspired by. I say that because I don’t want to achieve the same things as someone else or use their achievements to measure the success of my own. I think that what inspires me is being able to help as many people as possible and leaving a lasting legacy that inspires others.

The one person who motivates me is…

my parents. The work ethic that they have is extraordinary to me and I’ve been lucky enough to inherit that from them. Coming to the United States as an immigrant is extremely difficult, even if your parents both went to college. Working hard does not mean that things are going to be as easy as they’re advertised to immigrants. They had to work twice as hard in order to have the life that we live now and I could not be more proud and thankful to be their daughter for that.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

for women to be able to feel safe. To not have to fear walking down the streets by themselves, to not be sexually harassed, to be treated as equals and respected.

The perfect day would be…

well, that would consist of a big brunch right next to the ocean and boating all day until the sun sets and then finish the day off with a bonfire with my friends 🙂

My first job was…

cashier at a food stand at the Minnesota State Fair!

My favorite escape…

running. When I get in my own head I can’t see things as clearly, running gives me the clarity to think straight again.

My life…

is hectic and so busy sometimes I forget to breathe. In the moments that I can catch my breath though it always amazes me looking around and seeing how much I’m accomplishing and seeing the people who have helped me right next to me as well.

I’m currently working on…

well, I have several different projects going on but two that I am very excited about are the 8 Week Challenge with F45 and finishing my internship with The Borgen Project at the end of February!

Always…

tell your friends and family that you love them. It’s not overrated!

Never…

under any circumstance text the f*ckboy back.

Favorite Quote….

Something that my mom has said to me since I was little and has never not been relevant in my life is; “better to be alone than in bad company” which is something that has always rung true for me. I like to keep my circle of loved ones small and close.

Biggest Dream…

to one day manage my own law firm.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

this one especially makes my skin crawl and just grosses me out; when people BELCH their burps. I want to crawl out of my own skin and to a different continent because I find it so disgusting.
