A typical day in my life includes… Waking up early to walk our puppy followed by getting all the things done to get my kids out the door on time for school and then grabbing a much-needed Starbucks before I log into my computer. Most of my day is spent working, but I like to sprinkle in lunch dates (with my husband or a girlfriend) here and there – and always on Fridays! Once the kids get home the real work begins. It’s a whirlwind of snacks, unpacking backpacks and helping with homework to making dinner for the kids and school lunches for the next day, rolled right into the kid’s bedtime routine. Showers every other night, books and songs every night to include Hush Little Baby every single night to my son since the day he was born. Our dinner is squeezed in there somewhere, but most of all I look forward to relaxing with my husband and watching a show once the kids are in bed.  Currently we are obsessed with Schitt’s Creek – so great!

I was born… In Iowa City, Iowa – a little slice of heaven in the middle of the heartland “Go Hawks!”

My favorite thing about Arizona… The beautiful sunsets and desert trails

I’m listening to… Jessica Simpson’s “Open Book” on Audible mixed in with Spotify’s Vintage Vibes: Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and Sunny Sweeney to name a few of my favs.

My family… Is everything to me. My husband can make me smile on the worst of days and is my rock. We fell in love dancing to red dirt in the kitchen and over long conversations that went until dawn. I hope to be my daughter’s best friend forever and my son can melt my heart with one snuggle. I feel blessed to have my parents close by and a part of our everyday life – we would be lost without the help of my mom, aka “Nana”. I’ve always looked up to my Dad. He’s been cheering for me my entire life, from the sidelines of my soccer games to today as I dive into entrepreneurship. My brother lives in Colorado but is just a phone call away and always up for a long chat. He doesn’t have kids (yet!) but is one proud uncle and has a heart of gold. I would not be who I am today with each of these amazing individuals who have helped shaped my life.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… My mother-in-law who we lost to cancer when I was 3-months pregnant with my daughter. I would love to tell her stories about her grandchildren and how I see her shine through my daughter from time to time. I would tell what an amazing father her son is and how much our kids look up to him.

One thing I cannot live without… Coffee!

When I was younger, I wanted to be… A Mom.

I’m inspired by… Moms, epically my own. The one person I have talked to just about every day of my entire life. She is hard working, loyal and loves me most of all. Being a mom myself I now understand the sacrifices we make for our children. When you are a mom someone else always comes first. My hope is that my own children admire me the way I admire my mother.

The one person who motivates me is… My husband. He encourages me to follow my dreams and is my biggest champion. Without his love and support I could not be where I am today with The MomSpot.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… I wish the world was a kinder place. I look at my two young children who have yet experience unkindness outside of petty childish play. They are both kind at heart and I hope they continue to be kind to both themselves and others.

The perfect day would be… Going on a walk with my family (and dogs) with a Starbucks in hand, followed by a trail ride on horseback and then 9-holes of golf with my husband. Lunch with my mom at Postinos rolled right into Happy Hour with my best friends before snuggling up with my family on the couch for pizza and a movie (and popcorn of course). Finally, a nightcap with my husband, preferably bourbon, on our patio listening to our favorite tunes. Maybe a game of Chess – something we took up during quarantine and now find ourselves playing into the wee hours of the night.

My first job was… Babysitting at young age, but my first (and only career) has been in the hospitality industry as an Event Planner.

My favorite escape… Horses! I love being around horses and most of all going on long trail rides where I can get lost in the moment. On weekends you can find me at my friend’s barn taking it all in. I feel fortunate to have horses in my life. They bring a sense of calmness to my busy mom-life and just a few hours each Sunday recharges me for the week!

My life… is not perfect, but I am grateful for my family and friends who have filled my life with wonderful memories. I’m a busy body and like to be on the go, but these past few months I’ve been forced to slow down. In turn I have found that I enjoy quiet moments at home, playing Uno with my kids, as much as I do running from one commitment to the next on a typical weekend.

I’m currently working on… Building The MomSpot brand and spreading the word about my Mom Concierge.

Always… Follow your dreams, no matter how big or small.

Never… Give up and don’t judge others for the choices they make or the opinions they have.

Favorite Quote… “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” Dolly Parton

Biggest Dream… To run a successful business.

My Pet Peeve(s)… When my kids say “I can’t…” when I know they can!
