Name: Johnathan Meade
Title: Chief Operating Officer
City you live in: Phoenix
A typical day in my life includes… a lot of variety. I set out every day with a plan of what I intend to accomplish. However, every day brings something new or unexpected. It keeps me on my toes.
I was born… in Phoenix and into an amazing family.
My favorite thing about Arizona…is the business community. Meade Engineering works with a lot of different companies in the Valley and we have established strong long-term partnerships. We look out for each other and grow together. I’m fortunate to be a part of it.
I’m listening to… three audiobooks currently: The Talent Code, The Boutique, and CEO Excellence.
My family… is the foundation my life is built on. I’m fortunate to be part of a big family that’s so diverse. There are consistent themes that exist among us, but everyone is also unique. It keeps things interesting for sure.
If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… My grandfather. He passed away when I was a year old, and I didn’t get a chance to know him directly. He was a 747 Captain for a major commercial airline and an acrobatics instructor. Given my passion for aviation, it would’ve been amazing to have his influence throughout my life.
One thing I cannot live without… a thrill! I am an adventure seeker and that’s what helps keep me excited about life.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… a fighter jet pilot
I’m inspired by… innovation. I enjoy the journey that innovation offers as much as the outcome. The perpetual pursuit of perfection is something that gets me going every single day.
The person/people who motivate(s) me is/are… My team, my family and friends are all motivational in my life. Outside of that, I absolutely have been motivated by Jocko Willink.
If I could change anything in the world, it would be… I’d add an hour or two to each day.
The perfect day would be… the perfect day is a day that makes progress towards our biggest life goals.
My first job was… At Meade Engineering!
My favorite escape… the beach. Or something connected to nature. The combination of nature and exercise brings me happiness and peace.
My life… has included so many meaningful experiences that define who I am today. Up until this point in time, I look back at my life and my purpose continues to be refined and clearer. I am a believer that everything happens for a reason, and we must make a conscious effort to reflect on the experiences we have- good, bad, or indifferent.
I’m currently working on… my family, my health, my business, and my pilot’s license.
Always… listen to your intuition. If your gut is speaking to you, chances are there is truth in that feeling. Find that truth.
Never… underestimate what you are capable of accomplishing. The belief that it can happen is half the battle.
Favorite Quote… ”Success is never final, and failure is never fatal”
Biggest Dream… is to have a truly positive impact on society at a global scale.
My Pet Peeve(s)… problems without an effort to seek solutions.
