A typical day in my life includes… exercise and meditation, helping clients with their skin both locally and nationally, and spending time with friends and my pups.

I was born…and raised in Cupertino, CA (Silicon Valley, Bay Area). It was an interesting place to grow up as my formative years were pre-internet into the .com boom. So there was a lot of rapid change and growth happening. One of my favorite things about where I grew up was being exposed to a diverse culture. My friend’s moms loved to cook for us, so we ate lots of delicious, authentic Asian and Indian cuisines.

My favorite thing about Arizona…definitely the weather…well, nine months of the year. Also, I have met the most amazing friends who have become family to me in Arizona.

I’m listening to…a lot of Taylor Swift! I recently learned that I am a Swiftie while cooking Thanksgiving food with my best friend’s daughter. I had no idea until then how much I love her music…and now I am sad I missed her concert tour in the US.

My family…is pretty modern; blood relatives, blended family, and friends who have become my family.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…my mom (who passed away 7 years ago)

One thing I cannot live without…my skincare products! I had struggled with acne since I was 11 years old and was on a mission to solve my skin issues even as a child. This is actually why I formulated Emme Diane Skincare since I realized that most products on the market contribute to acne, even if they have the right ingredients to clear the skin, due to also having pore-clogging ingredients that keep the skin in a cycle of “my skin kind of clears, but then breaks out again”. Once I learned this truth, I had no choice but to formulate Emme Diane skincare. And because it truly works (for me and thousands of clients), I cannot live without these products.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…an esthetician, even before I knew it was a career. Like I mentioned, I struggled with my skin from a young age. I even went to the corner market with my first allowance to purchase Noxema and Cover Girl makeup in an attempt to clear my skin. I became obsessed with skincare and how to take care of your skin, so I would perform mini facials on my friends at sleepovers and even locked myself in the bathroom pretending to make a little tutorial about how to properly cleanse your skin. When I found out that being an esthetician was a career, I knew I had found my calling.

I’m inspired by…those who have achieved their dreams/goals and now give back to inspire and lift others up. I think it’s so amazing when people achieve their goals, but it is even more inspiring when those people help others to achieve their goals. I do hope to be one of those people someday and be an Angel Investor in others’ dreams.

The person/people who motivate(s) me is/are…women entrepreneurs like Sarah Blakey (Spanx), Alli Webb (Dry Bar), Jamie Kern Lima (IT Cosmetics), and Tiffany Masterson (Drunk Elephant). Also, my clients motivate me so much…especially when I receive messages about how their skin transformation changed their lives. This is the reason I do what I do!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…human kindness.

The perfect day would be…a day where I accomplished something (big or small), I was able to help someone else and I laughed a lot.

My first job was…aside from babysitting, my first job was at a frozen yogurt shop when I was 13 years old.

My favorite escape…it’s a toss-up between Lake Tahoe and Big Sur or a spa day. I definitely love being in nature, but I also love a relaxing, pampering spa day with friends!

My life…is an unexpected novel. So many ups and downs and unbelievable stories. I’ve been told I should write a book about my life by countless people. So maybe someday!

I’m currently working on…finding ways to utilize AI in my business without sacrificing that personal touch. This is a challenging one for me since I know personally that if you have struggled with your skin for years, it can be so hard to believe that something will work when nothing has in the past. My clients want to feel seen and heard when it comes to their skin struggles, so incorporating AI to help clients instantly sounds amazing, but I don’t want to lose that human connection where they know they are not alone on their skin journey.

Always…do what is right, not what is easy. This has been my motto in my business. There have been a lot of opportunities over the years that could have exponentially grown my business. But I am not willing to compromise on my core values when it comes to my business. Examples would be selling my business knowing that my formulas would be changed, paying influencers to promote my products when they have not personally experienced results from my products, etc. Authenticity and staying true to what has made us successful thus far are standards I am not willing to compromise.

Never… Life is short and unexpected, so never miss an opportunity to tell someone how much they mean to you.

Favorite Quote…”Life is happening for you, not to you.”

Biggest Dream…to be an angel investor in other entrepreneurs’ dreams.

My Pet Peeve(s)…people who don’t put their shopping carts away. I think this speaks volumes about someone’s character, so it definitely irks me when I see people leaving their shopping carts in random places at the grocery store.
