Age:  38

Title:  Mr.

Married/Single:  Single

Kids:  None

City you live in:  Scottsdale

A typical day in my life includes…

wake up around 7:15am, shower, check my calendar for the day, either sit at my dining room table or head to Starbucks Kierland for coffee and to read the Wall Street Journal.  Go into the office close to 9am.  From here, nothing is typical.  If it is Monday through Thursday I am almost always at the gym by 6pm (work permitting).  I try to hit the gym 4 workdays a week and hope for a weekend hike or a Sunday executive workout.  By 7:30pm I’m usually home eating dinner.  Dinner usually consists of something on the grill, a salad, and SportsCenter.  After dinner I usually work again for another 2 hours and read a business or self-help book before calling it a day.  Being single, I do enjoy after a good workout meeting friends for dinners and/or a few cocktails.

I was born…

outside of Detroit and grew up in South Bend, Indiana but I don’t tell many people that (unless Notre Dame is playing). I usually just go with Chicago due to the close proximity and that I lived in the city for many years.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

proximity to my mom and of course the weather.

I’m listening to…

anything country.

My family…

means the world to me.  I lost my dad a few years back and value every minute I get to spend with my mom, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

the Dos Equis Man (the most interesting man in the world).  I too try to live my life vicariously through myself.

One thing I cannot live without…

it’s actually 3: Patience, courage, and wisdom.  Although not tangible I couldn’t live without these. With these three items I’m less quick to anger and show appreciation more.  I have the strength to face my daily challenges and the mental capacity to overcome most hurdles.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

I wanted to be older.

I’m inspired by…

Warren Buffet (not politically) and Richard Branson.  Warren because I love process and time management.  Warren when he buys an operating company hands them a binder and says, “Take this, learn this. You don’t want to hear from me.  If I haven’t called you, I’ve called you.”  I remember seeing a town hall with Warren and Bill Gates.  Charlie Rose asked Bill what the most amazing thing about Warren was and Bill’s response was, “I’m so impressed by how clean Warren’s calendar is.”  I feel I can accomplish more in one day than most can in a week.

I love Richard because he inspires me to dream; not only to dream, but to dream bigger.  Being an entrepreneur I couldn’t think of anyone more inspiring than he.  When I look at Richard I feel anything is attainable.

The one person who motivates me is…

Frank Sinatra.  Frank lived life to its fullest.  He lived life no particular way but his own.  Excess was not in his vocabulary.  He loved, he brawled, he had style, he had guts, he could even act.  He was a philanthropist, the definer of American pop, a lady’s man, but most importantly he was a man’s man. The man could do it all. “He could make it anywhere.”

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

world hunger.  Stay tuned…I already have a plan for this (see excerpt above about dreaming).  I have plans to team up with Matt Damon and Bono (U2) and solve this worldly issue.

The perfect day would be…

wake up, workout, eat a great big breakfast, and maybe hit the beach or golf course.  Then spend the rest of the night socializing with friends.

My first job was…

Commercial Lending & Investments Risk Analyst for JP Morgan in Chicago.

My favorite escape…

I’ve been fortunate to travel to over 70 countries with permanent addresses in 6 so I have multiple favorites; however there is nothing like going to my family cabin on Lake Michigan.

My life…

is constantly moving/evolving….both professionally and personally.

I’m currently working on…

making my company successful.

Always…

know you are responsible for your own happiness.

Never…

give up.

Favorite Quote…

“What does success require?  Long days, longer nights, empty bank accounts, struggle, two faced friends, faith in yourself, and a work ethic so sick that if you were to tell someone how hard you actually grind they wouldn’t believe you.”

Biggest Dream…

to ring the bell on the New York Stock Exchange as I take my company or future company public.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

gossip.  Form your own opinions of people.
