Foundress Fridays: Meet Alaine Nolt, Founder of Alaine’s Transitional Coaching

Alaine is a high-performance life coach and lifestyle strategist that works privately with accomplished individuals who have built successful lives and are ready for those lives to feel as strong on the inside as they look on the outside. Her work focuses on health, key relationships, stress, and how someone is actually living day to day.

She has a strong intuitive ability to identify what is driving pressure or misalignment. She partners with clients to restructure how they’re living so their health, energy, and relationships support the life they’re building – not work against it.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?

Age Less. Live More. It’s not about denying age – it’s about refusing to let it define what’s possible. I’m 65, in my strongest health, deeply fulfilled in my relationships, and doing the most meaningful work of my life. That’s what I want for every person I work with – a life that feels vibrant, intentional, and fully theirs.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?

Honestly, no. I loved corporate. I thrived in structured environments where I could focus on my role, develop people, and not worry about the business side. I spent 12 years in corporate finance in the clothing industry and received numerous awards and promotions. Then I co-owned a coffee roasting business for 20 years – wholesale and retail – where I discovered how much I excel with team building and customer relationships.

Coaching found me in a different way. A defining moment in 2014 brought me face to face with how I wanted to live the rest of my life. That’s when I realized coaching wasn’t just a career change. It was my glass slipper. I will do this work until my last breath. I don’t consider it a job.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?

By people who are honest with me and believe in what I’m building. My S.O. is incredibly grounded and strong with the financial and strategic side of life, which gives me space to focus on the work I love. My three daughters inspire me constantly. And the communities I’m part of – Foundress, my mastermind, my colleagues – those relationships matter deeply.

I’ve always valued friendships built on honesty and connection, and I feel most supported when the people around me show up with that same intention. There’s something deeply fulfilling about relationships where being in service to each other is the highest value.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?

My clients. Watching someone go from exhaustion, silent suffering, and overwhelm to peace of mind, genuine confidence, and relationships running at peak performance – that never gets old.

I work with people who come in angry, depleted, and stretched beyond recognition, and I watch them reclaim their time, their health, and the relationships that matter most to them. I also stay motivated because I genuinely believe this work matters. Most people don’t need more information. They need someone who can see what they can’t see yet and help them move. Being that person is a privilege I take seriously.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.

Sitting in the backyard with coffee, sunshine, and good conversation with my guy. We usually choose a reading and talk through it. Then it’s out into nature – a hike or canyoneering with friends – and planning the social time ahead. Simple, intentional, and fully present. That’s my favorite way to live – not just on Saturdays.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?

Know your interests, talents, and skills and where they intersect. That’s where your best work lives. Find a mentor early. Ask successful people what worked and what didn’t.

Above all, focus on becoming someone people trust. Trust is built through consistency, honesty, and actually being good at what you do. Build that first. Everything else follows.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?

The conversations. Every week I sit across from people who are carrying tremendous responsibility and are finally ready to be honest about how they live. Watching someone go from quietly overwhelmed to clear, steady, and back in command of their life never gets old. I also love that my work isn’t confined to one format.

I coach privately, host small intensives, and I’m building toward speaking more. The freedom to design how I work and who I work with is something I don’t take for granted.
