My hat goes off to Glory Verdugo. Like many working moms, she lives a frenzied, frantic life… and her health and weight paid the price. And then she had a rude awakening: a near stroke. But instead of letting it beat her down, she used her health scare as a launch pad towards a new healthier life. She found a workout she loved (Amenzone), embraced healthy eating (her fave snack is apples and almond butter) and now wakes up happier and healthier. “I’ve found my inner strength, I’m healthy and have my life back,” say Glory. Worst thing about your old diet: There was no diet. I ate for comfort and convenience. Time was an issue, so I’d just eat fast food. Nutrition was not a priority for me until my health was hit hard with my near stroke in August of 2009.
Worst thing about your old fitness regimen: It didn’t exist. I didn’t make time to take care of myself, I was so focused on my children and consumed with a busy life, until my health failed me and forced me to make a change.
The key to losing weight is: First self-discipline. You must decide that this is how it will be; that this is what you want. Then choose to be consistent and follow through. It’s all you, your actions and determination along with persistence to pursue your personal goals. There’s a quote on an Amenzone wall that reads, “Action expresses priority” – it is only this that will get you there!
The key to keeping the weight off is: For me, it’s been mentally rewarding as well as physically. I feel confident and healthy now. I save money not having to see my doctors, nor depend on medications. I am fully accountable for my new life and my reward for all my hard work is now looking at what and who I’ve become in this journey. I’m now simply able to maintain my new fitness lifestyle with lots of pride.
Best advice to others looking to lose weight: It’s taken me time and so much hard work to get this far. I’ve learned that I have to be patient with myself through obstacles and setbacks and I have to remain focused and determined. The journey of self-awakening and seeing my strengths along the path of obstacles only made me stronger. The support I’ve received from Amenzone Fitness along with family and friends through the years cannot be described in words – all I can do is reciprocate my passion by encouraging others to be healthy and fit. Do not wait for your health to fail you. You matter – it’s time you commit to yourself by living a healthy lifestyle!

Fitness: Amenzone Fitness has been a huge part in my transformation, transforming me from the inside out. After 6 months of Amenzone, I said goodbye to my blood pressure medications.
Diet: I deleted fried foods, processed foods and processed juices, and added more organic fruits and vegetables. I’ve switched to lean meats and do not eat red meat.
Motivation: My children! My new lifestyle has given me years back in my life, which in turn has given my children a happy, healthy mother!
