Rihanna’s cover on the March issue of Haper’s Bazaar is not only artistically gorgeous and eye-catching, it seems a little too…real. And that’s because it is. In the spread photographed by Norman Jean Roy, Rihanna actually swam with three sand tiger sharks, all in a Chanel swimsuit, of course.
Whether it’s coincidental, March also happens to be the 40th anniversary of the movie Jaws. In her interview, Rihanna talks about swimming around metaphorical “sharks” in her career and daily life, saying, “I try my best to avoid the sharks of life, but I have had my share of experiences with them, and in those cases I just have to handle them accordingly. But I do not swim with sharks. . . sharks swim with sharks.”
As far as her fashion choices are concerned, it’s all about how she feels.
“The way I dress depends on how I feel,” she told Bazaar. “I never have to psych myself up. Usually it just feels like it works. I don’t like to commit to those kind of rules. You never know.”
