For those of you who are not on Pinterest yet … take it from a wedding planner … it’s worth it’s weight in gold for your wedding planning process.

One of the first questions that we ask our brides is if they have a Pinterest account. If they don’t have one yet, we encourage them to sign up right away. Pinterest.com is the best resource for organizing all of your wedding inspirations and pinning them into specific “boards” or folders. With many different wedding blogs and online wedding inspirations in the market place you need an online place with ability to share these photos; especially with your vendors.

If you aren’t familiar with Pinterest, essentially it’s a place where you can grab photos you love from any or every website with a click of a button – also known as a “pin” and put those “pinned” photos into a specific board or folder of your named choice. The “pin it” button is a download you sign up for directly from Pinterest.com when you create your own account; the pin button will sit right on your browser where you would see all of your bookmarked favorites, this way it’s easily accessible to pin a photo you love just by clicking “pin it”.

Are you confused yet? How about an example? Let’s say I am searching wedding invitations online on several different websites or blogs, when I find a photo that I love or that inspires my wedding vision I go to the button found in my bookmarks/favorites on my internet browser that says “Pin It”; I click the button and automatically a pop-up will appear that lets me choose what board I want that photo going into. In this example case, I may put this photo into a select board called “Wedding Paper”. Then when I go to my invitation meeting with my invitation designer, I can quickly point her to my “Wedding Paper” board in my Pinterest account and share my inspirations with her.

Sharing these photos with your vendors will make for a much more productive vendor meeting. Plus your vendors can go onto your Pinterest account by “following your boards” online – so they never have to be logged into your account to see your inspirations and they can return to them any time they want to make sure they have your design perfect.
