When taking a golf vacation, it’s truly about all-access. Full enjoyment of a region’s golf offerings is best achieved by trying all the courses a locale has to offer.

Las Vegas vacationers can now take advantage of a new partnership between Loews Lake Las Vegas and the exclusive Lake Las Vegas Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas. The partnership marks the firsttime that Loews guests will have the opportunity to play the club’s Jack Nicklaus-designed course.

LPGA tournament-winning professional golfer and South Shore Golf Club member Natalie Gulbis describes South Shore as a “player-friendly” course. Gulbis, who has owned a home at Lake Las Vegas for nine years, recommends that her friends and family stay at the Loews when they come to visit her.

Named by Golf Digest when it debuted in 1996 as one of the “Top 10 Private Golf Courses in America” and known for sweeping views of Lake Las Vegas and the Loews Lake Las Vegas, the South Shore course will challenge and delight even the most accomplished golfers. With sweeping views of the lake and the surrounding natural environment, as well as unique opportunities to see wildlife, including the Desert Big Horn sheep, this Par 71 6,917 -yard course is an exclusive and exciting experience for both leisure and business guests.

“The partnership between Loews and South Shore Golf Club is an amazing opportunity for visitors,” said Gulbis. “Every time I describe the experience to a friend and they stay, their experience actually supersedes everything I had told them. It’s just a beautiful place and an indescribable experience—and I always host my meetings there and make sure my guests have a drink on the Lotus Court at sunset so they can see the lake,” she added.

Within a chip shot of the hotel, the course features generous Bermuda fairways that frame gently rolling Bentgrass greens, 88 strategically placed bunkers and numerous forced carries over canyons and water creating both an exhilarating challenge and a visually stunning backdrop for golf. The layout’s unique topography includes course elevations ranging from 1,410 feet to 1,750 feet. While challenging enough to test the mettle of scratch golfers, five sets of tees on each hole help new and less experienced golfers enjoy the subtle nuances and design elements that have made Jack Nicklaus one of the most revered golf course architects in the world.
