What inspired you to take part in the Taste of the NFL’s Party with a Purpose? It’s horrifying that so many people are starving right here in America. As a chef, I want to do everything I can to end hunger.
Say you’re hosting a Super Bowl party. What dish do you serve to guests? Definitely BBQ. Ribs and pork butt!
Have you always had a passion for the culinary arts? How did you get your start? I didn’t get started in cooking until I dropped out of college and got a job washing dishes at a local pool hall. I honestly fell in love with the kitchen before the food.
What do you love most about what you do? The greatest part about my job is when I have a guest tell me that they will remember their meal forever. Food memories are the best, and I love being a part of them.
What food bank are you representing? St. Louis Area Foodbank.
And a few fun faves…
Favorite Super Bowl memory: Super Bowl XXII in 1988, watching the Redskins beat the Broncos.
Favorite sports-watching snack: Popcorn with black pepper.
Favorite cocktail to whip up for Super Bowl guests: For the Super Bowl, it’s all beer. We were heavily stocked with Urban Chestnut Zwickel last year.
