Picture information

Description:

The first annual Ripe awards, presented by the Men's Arts Council at the Phoenix Art Museum on Jan. 31, 2013 honored five of the Valley's edgiest chefs - Josh Hebert of Posh, Bernie Kantak of Citizen Public House, Silvana Salcido Esparza of Barrio Cafe and Barrio Queen, Charleen Badman of FnB and Greg LaPrad of Quiessence. The evening featured a silent auction and art show from local artist Lalo Cota. All five Ripe award winners offered tastes, and there were wine pourings from AZ wineries, Lawrence Dunham Vineyards, Pillsbury Wines and Arizona Stronghold. Dos Cabezas Tequila offered tastings and Roger Clyne's Mexican Moonshine Beer was featured. Guests tasted samples from Grand Canyon Brewery and desserts from Tracy Dempsey Originals. Music was by World Life Music's Rani "g" and complimentary gifts were provided by Lezzet Spices.
