Feb. 7, 2016. Congratulations to Hideki Matsuyama for winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open 2016. A record crowd for the 4 days exceeded 600,000 spectators who enjoyed a very competitive event that ended in a tie after 72 holes. It took 4 playoff holes to decide the winner, Matsuyama, who edged out favorite Ricky Fowler.
