Mom's Moment: Valentine's Day Dining & Recipes

I've decided I'm not doing my obligatory cliché Valentine's Day post on fab dates ideas, how to keep the spark alive, or great gifts to get your wife or husband. Instead, I'm writing about food.

As a mom, my meals mostly consist of whatever my son doesn't eat: leftover mac & cheese...

Mom's Moment: To My Second Born Before You Turn One

Dear Zachy,

Tomorrow you turn one.

It seems like just yesterday I "felt" I was pregnant and took five tests to confirm, I was, in fact, expecting. At the time, your brother was 9 months old, and while I was overly excited, I was overly nervous-- how could I love another child, considering the love I had for your brother was infinite? Date night dating: getting dolled up in new clothes, new shoes, and having your hair blown. Starting the night at 5pm for pre-dinner cocktails at a swanky bar, transitioning to a 5-course gourmet dinner, and topping things off at a cool lounge past midnight— all without smudging your make-up.

rsz_img_5841.jpg

My first post of the year turns a new page in my book-- my baby is starting preschool.

With a New Year, comes a new transition.

Here's the letter I wrote Nicholas the night before day one. (I'll talk about his first date later-- that, in itself, was the longest morning of my life.)

It's personal, so thank you for reading kindly. Tell me I'm not the only mom with such emotions!

January 3, 2016

Dear Nicholas,

Tomorrow you start preschool.

I have so much mixed emotion about you starting this new chapter of your...
