Description

Female entrepreneur and advocate Heather Lennon, of Raconteuse Cigars, Imagine General Contracting and Development, Arizona Warehouse Holidays and Imagine Develops, LLC, is pleased to partner with other local female powerhouses to present WomenPHX’24 on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fairytale Brownies’ Co-founder and President Eileen Spitalny will co-host this unique experience at her bakery, 4610 E. Cotton Center Blvd., Phoenix. The inaugural WomenPHX’24 kicks off Women’s History Month 2024 and raises funds for Dress for Success Phoenix, a nonprofit which empowers women to achieve economic independence with support, attire and development tools for work and life.

During the event, women can participate in multiple workshops designed to help them further develop and enhance their business skills, interests, wellness and beyond.

“I believe strongly that we as a community, as women and as people, rise together,” says Lennon, who helped develop the concept of WomenPHX’24 in collaboration with other Phoenix community leaders and entrepreneurs. “I am honored to work with so many brilliant, passionate women who also want to see others rise — and who create opportunities to help them do so.”

In honor of March’s designation as Women’s History Month, which celebrates the important roles that women play in the world, these female leaders have created the event for women to explore and expand their contributions while giving back to the community.

WomenPHX’24 kicks off with a yoga session by Jennifer Miles designed to guide guests through a relaxing routine of movements.

Next, participants will enjoy an “Ask the Entrepreneur” panel. During this workshop, Lennon and Spitalny will offer their honest female perspectives as they answer questions from attendees regarding entrepreneurship, business operations and career navigation.

Following, Lennon and her staff of cigar experts from Raconteuse Cigars will lead a “Cigar Curious” workshop introducing women to topics such as selecting and enjoying a cigar as well as tasting notes and pairing suggestions.

Other highlights of the day include a finance workshop with local experts, an icebreaker and speed network sessions during which attendees are encouraged to meet one another as well as speak directly with presenting members of WomenPHX’24.

Special guests Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and District 8 Councilperson Kesha Hedge Washington will be in attendance. Mayor Gallego is the second elected female mayor in Phoenix history and one of the youngest big city mayors in the country. District 8 Councilperson Washington is the first African American woman to be elected to the Phoenix City Council.

During the event, attendees will be able to shop the various women-owned business booths as well as purchase items from food trucks and Arizona wineries and distilleries. Admission is free; reservations are required.
