Description

Artists Larry and Sandra Ortega are pleased to announce the return of their annual Open Studio Sale and private Soiree event this fall at their home studio and gallery located in Cinnabar Canyon at 1844 E. Cinnabar Ave. in Sunnyslope. The Open Studio Sale begins Sunday, Oct. 22 at noon; this new body of work is titled S.O.L.O. and will first be previewed at the Ortegas’ private Soiree #8 on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 21.

“Our haven has always been more than a home. It’s a living, breathing narrative that encapsulates the profound spiritual connection that the artists share with the enchanting desert backdrop that inspires their art pieces,” said Larry Ortega, who hosts these art-centric experiences with his wife Sandra. “We have transformed our home into a sanctuary of art and we love the natural energy that has developed out of these events. We look forward to seeing the art-loving community and sharing the inspirations for our work.”

On Sunday, Oct. 22 at noon, the Ortegas open their home to art lovers and collectors for their Open Studio Sale, titled S.O.L.O. During this event, the public is invited to view the work in person and purchase Larry’s and Sandra’s individual pieces that are on display throughout their home art studio and gallery. Sandra, once known for her ceramic sculptures and now a painter, and Larry, a classically trained painter who transitioned to a self-taught sculptor, will unveil new works for this event.

Sandra’s artistic evolution from ceramics to new mediums offers an intimate glimpse into her creative psyche. At the same time, Larry’s sculptures represent his extraordinary ability to capture the ethos of the desert by breathing life into static materials. Though showcasing individual pieces, the Ortegas’ show “S.O.L.O.,” which stands for Sandra Ortega and Larry Ortega, represents their harmonious creative connection. Their works reflect and represent their journeys and shared exploration as partners in life and creativity.

Guests can purchase any contemporary works of art directly from the Ortegas’ gallery walls and pedestals to enjoy in their homes. The Ortegas’ pride their collections on being affordable to encourage art collection as a transformative power that is good for the soul.

The Ortegas began hosting their Open Studio Sale five years ago; they have been hosting their private soirees for the past three years. Opening their home to welcome many of the valley’s most notable artists from the art community and the enthusiastic art lovers and collectors for these events is a testament to the Ortegas’ dedication to fostering a vibrant community of artists within the valley.
