The 2nd Annual FashFilmFete will be returning to Phoenix Art Museum on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00a.m, where they will be celebrating the works of two of the most distinguished costume designers in the nation.

 

The day-long festival will celebrate fashion storytelling and feature presentations and films where fashion is a pivotal component of the storytelling, and diverse filmmakers are celebrated. The 2023 honorees are Ruth E. Carter, receiving the 2023 Career Achievement in Costume Design for Film, and Patricia Field, receiving the 2023 Career Achievement in Costume Design for Television.

 

The works being showcased at this year’s FashFilmFete include: 

 

  • “American Made” directed by Dana Nies

  • “CityCenterDC – ‘Celebrating You’” directed by Dean Alexander

  • “Finissage” directed by Pabli Stein and Sebastian Muro

  • “Franciacorta - A Golden Feeling” directed by Enea Colombi 

  • “House Of Mystic Magic“ directed by Alexander Miguel 

  • “How to Deal With Fame” directed by Tiffany Ike 

  • “The Missing Piece” directed by Hitaali Dharamshi 

  • “The Power is Yours” directed by Urivaldo Lopes

  • “Time is Eternal” directed by Daniel M Lir and Bayou Bennett

 

“In addition to screening these new works, we are also thrilled to be showing Happy Clothes, a documentary about Patricia Field, which has only ever been shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. Director Michael Selditch will also be in attendance and taking part in a Q & A about the film.

 

There will also be a giveaway of signed copies of Patricia Field’s new book “Pat in the City: My Life of Fashion, Style, and Breaking All the Rules” and an encore presentation of select award winners from the 2022 festival. 

The in-person festival will be Sept. 23, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Phoenix Art Museum. The virtual festival will be Sept. 24 to Oct. 8 on the Filmocracy platform at www.fashfilmfete.tv. On Sept. 24th at 11 a.m. MST there will be an online workshop sponsored by Seed & Spark on the "Art of the Pitch."

Early bird passes go on sale July 10, $35-$75, and individual tickets go on sale July 25, $10-$20 exclusively through phxart.org.
