Description

The Be Kind People Project® prides itself on giving youth the knowledge, tools and support they need to help strengthen and unite their surrounding communities and is taking steps toward the future of Arizona at a special community breakfast this spring.

Slated for 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28 at the innovative and stunning Earnhardt Lexus venue in Phoenix, The Rise and Shine Community Breakfast kicks off the organization’s “MAKE A DIFFERENCE May” initiative, supported by a 2019 grant by Thunderbirds Charities.

The event will unite like-minded guests who support the nonprofit’s mission of spreading kindness, tolerance and understanding across Arizona and the nation, as well as celebrating the impact students — and all of us — can have on making our communities a better place to live and helping make a difference for those in need.

The event will recognize the winners of The Be Kind People Project’s MAKE A DIFFERENCE essay contest, which tasks local youths with submitting ideas as to how to improve our community and build The BE KIND City. The three top Arizona winners will be invited to present their essays to the community at the breakfast.

“The contest asks students what they can do right now to make their communities better places to live, and based on the submissions we’ve received thus far, the future is looking bright for Arizona,” said The Be Kind People Project Chief Executive Officer Marcia Meyer. “We want to help make sure our young people have a voice and are contributing to our community so that they can grow and develop into tomorrow’s respectful and responsible leaders and citizens.”

“Thunderbirds Charities is proud to support The BE KIND City project,” said Chance Cozby, President of Thunderbirds Charities. “The education and experience the students receive will make a positive impact on the community.”

Also at the breakfast, The Be Kind People Project will complete BE KIND Summer Care Packs, supported by Thunderbirds Charities, with an innovative and interactive activity where everyone will experience the fulfillment of making a difference for those in need. The items for the packs were collected at Valley schools and are being assembled to give to individuals and families experiencing homelessness to help them through the summer months.
