Fun Run/Walk in Arcadia Neighborhood to Raise Awareness & Funds for Pediatric Medical Research  

WHO: The Phoenix Women’s Board of the Steele Children’s Research Center, known as PANDA (People Acting Now Discover Answers) is organizing a fun run/walk along the Arizona Canal, followed by a block party. The family friendly event is open to the public. This event is sponsored by The Karas Group.

WHAT: Fun Run/Walk and Block Party featuring face painting, music, bounce houses, games, crafts, a food truck, and fun for all ages. T-shirt is included for all registrants. Local businesses such as Kidtastics Gymnastics and Zoyo Frozen Yogurt are donating goods and services for participants too.

WHERE: Gather at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (3641 N. 56th Street) at 2 p.m.. The walk will begin on the Arizona Canal at 56th Street at 2:30 p.m. Parking is available at the church.

WHY: To raise awareness about the important work of PANDA (People Acting Now Discover Answers), a fundraising board that funds pediatric medical research at The Steele Children’s Research Center. All proceeds benefit the Steele Children’s Research Center at the University of Arizona.

About PANDA: The mission of the Phoenix Women’s Board of the Steele Children’s Research Center is to support discovery processes that lead to improved treatments and cures for devastating childhood diseases. The Board accomplishes its mission by raising awareness and private funding for the Steele Children’s Research Center at the University of Arizona.

Since our founding, PANDA has raised $15 million for the Steele Children’s Research Center and seed money from PANDA has been the catalyst for over $100 million in grants to fund children’s medical research. The Steele Children’s Research Center is the only academic pediatric medical research center in Arizona, conducting more than 60,000 visits annually with patients throughout the state.
