Dish Out Support for Muscular Dystrophy Association at 18th Annual Taste of the Town

Oct. 11 charity gala showcases celebrated food and drink to benefit those with muscle disease

The Arizona district of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) will host its annual Taste of the Town event on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Scottsdale Quarter, 15059 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, Ariz. One of the Valley’s most anticipated social events of the year, MDA’s Taste of the Town samples signature dishes and drinks from vendors across the city to help individuals affected by muscle disease.

Across Arizona, more than 2,600 people are living with muscle disease and are registered with MDA. These include muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and related neuromuscular diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. MDA is committed to transforming the lives of those affected through innovations in science and care, but there are currently no cures to any of the disease states that the MDA covers.

“Each year at Taste of the Town, vendors and supporters from all over the Valley come together to advance MDA’s goal of elevating the science and care for those living with muscle diseases and their families,” says Executive Director of MDA Phoenix, Sarah Levin. “This year’s event lineup is one of our best yet, and I look forward to spending an evening with the Arizona community as we team up improve the lives of people affected.”

Guests will enjoy options from more than a dozen Valley restaurants and beverage purveyors, bid in a first-class silent auction with more than 20 items and dance the night away with live music. Tickets are $65 per person, with all proceeds supporting MDA’s mission to transform the lives of those impacted by muscle disease.

Eatery, Fogo de Chao, Sol Mexican Cocina, Bourbon and Bones and BubbleBee. Live music is performed by Radio London.
