Description

Music Director Charles Bontrager leads the Civic Orchestra of Tucson in its annual Benefit Concert and Silent Auction. The orchestra performs light classical and popular music on the theme "Hither and Yon: A Musical Travelogue".

This special event supports the orchestra's Young Artists' Competition, and showcases talented young competition winners, both past and current.
Featured guest artist this year is "Young MacDonald," winner of the 2018 Ensemble Division of the competition. This acoustic fiddle and cello duo will perform classical music and their unique mix of many traditions, including Old Time fiddle, Bluegrass, and jazz tunes.

Also performing will be one or more winners of the 2019 competition, held in January.

The Silent Auction opens at 6:30 pm and continues during the intermission. Attendees can bid on over 70 items, including concert tickets, nature experiences, restaurant certificates, items for the home, jewelry, the opportunity to conduct the orchestra, and much more.

The concert begins at 7:00 pm.

General admission tickets are $20, with open seating. Student tickets are available at the door for $5.
