Petco Foundation is sponsoring the adoption fees of more than 50 dogs and cats at the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL), the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter, through a $50,000 grant awarded earlier this year.
“The Arizona Animal Welfare League has been one of PetCo Foundation’s community partners for more than 10 years,” said Judith Gardner, president and CEO of AAWL. “Over the years, PetCo Foundation has helped us save thousands of animals, and this grant has already sponsored more than 100 adoption fees this year.”
The All Treats, No Tricks adoption special will remain active through Halloween, Oct. 31. Sponsored dogs and cats will be identified by a pumpkin decal on their kennels, signifying their adoption fees are waived. This is one of four adoption events this year sponsored by Petco Foundation.
In July, the Petco Foundation sponsored AAWL’s first week-long adoption special in five years. The Beat the Heat event led to the majority of eligible dogs and cats over the age of 1 finding forever homes.
