AWAKEN YOUR INNER HERO AT CITY OF MARICOPA’S MUD RUN ON SATURDAY, OCT. 28

Super Hero Costume Contest, Mayor’s Challenge, and Mini-Copa Mud Run Offer Fun for the Whole Family

What:            It’s time for competitors of all ages to run, walk or crawl through two miles of mud, and more than 20 fun and challenging obstacles at the fifth-annual Maricopa Mud Run on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Copper Sky Recreation Complex in Maricopa.

                        In addition to the various Mud Run heats throughout the morning, runners are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero for a costume contest. All costumed runners who complete the course will receive a special treat bag.

                        Young mudders ages 5-11 can team up with a parent or older sibling to participate in the Mini-Copa Mud Run, which has extended in length to now include the full course.

                        City of Maricopa Mayor Christian Price has also been training hard to prepare for the annual throw-down Mayor’s Challenge, in which the Mayor goes head-to-head with a host of other two-person teams. Teams who beat the Mayor’s time win a limited-edition coin.

                        The Maricopa Mud Run consists of: a Competitive All Age Groups run, an Adult 18+ Recreational run, and Family, Teen and Mini-Mudders. Runners as young as five years old can register at maricopamudrun.com/ until Oct. 26.

When:           Saturday, Oct. 28, from 7 a.m. to noon

                        6 a.m.: Gates open

                        7 a.m.: Competitive all age groups

                        8 a.m.: Heat 1 – Adult 18+ recreational

                        9 a.m.: Heat 2 – Adult 18+ recreational

                        10 a.m.: Heat 1 – Family, teen and mini-mudder

                        11 a.m.: Heat 2 – Family, teen and mini-mudder
