The 16th Street Merchants have a new name! The local community of business owners that support the community is now known as Madison Merchants Sweet 16. To celebrate, the group will host a community picnic on Saturday, Oct. 7 from noon to 4:00 p.m. The picnic will be held at Parkway Church, in Phoenix. Admission is free, and the event will include a BBQ, free giveaways, live entertainment and fun for the whole family. 

Madison Merchants Sweet 16 believes in supporting the community by shopping and eating local. The group hosts various events throughout the year to showcase the businesses involved. Many community participants are already signed up for the picnic, including Roy Noggle Architects, Astemborski Insurance, HP2 Promotions, Texaz Grill, Puff and Fluff, Parkway Church and Diamond Jim’s.  

“It is important to embrace local businesses, especially those that support the community. Madison Merchants Sweet 16 is comprised of business owners who do just that. We look forward to hosting a picnic to celebrate our name change and to bring the community together,” Liz Illg, President of the Madison Merchants Sweet Sixteen said.
