The iconic Central Avenue will be transformed into a runner’s paradise to create health awareness and empower youth to make healthy decisions and develop healthy habits. The Mollen Foundation, through highly engaging project based programs, offers a comprehensive approach to healthy living, including; physical activity, nutrition integrated food education, leadership and resiliency skills.

The 42nd annual race will bring thousands to the core of downtown Phoenix, on Central Avenue. There will be a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Mollen Mile - kid’s run, expo, live music, and fun surprises.

Thousands of spectators come out to encourage runners along the course. It’s the only Arizona race down Central Avenue! Aside from the traditional races, there will be a Wheelchair 10K with many participants, professional chair racers and new comers and the Mollen Mile. The Mollen Mile is a non-competitive one-mile dash for children ages 3 to 12, encouraging kids to live active and make positive life choices. The race honors the Mollen Foundation which promotes healthy habits for future generations. This year’s Mollen Mile t-shirt will be designed by a young artist. The winning design will be chosen by a t-shirt design contest sponsored by JDRF which funds research for juvenile diabetes.

The event includes entertainment along the course including local bands as well as entertainment on the main stage. A variety of exhibitor booths and an Athlete's Village created to give a lively atmosphere that is fun for families and couples participating. Highlights of the big day, Runners’ friends and family using Chronotrack will be able to feel like they are a part of the race by tracking their runner’s progress via live text updates and photos and runners will even have video footage of them crossing the finish line to share on their social media.
