Description

Copper Sky Regional Park will be decked out in red, white and blue as the City of Maricopa holds its annual Great American 4th Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, July 4.

Kicking off at 6 p.m., the family-friendly event is jam-packed with patriotic entertainment and activities for all ages, including live music by Outside the Line, a high-energy band playing a great mix of fun music from the ‘60s through today.

Mayor Christian Price and Councilmembers will begin the formal program at 9 p.m., which will include a special recognition of Veterans followed by a presentation of Colors by the Maricopa Police Honor Guard; recital of the Pledge of Allegiance by Miss City of Maricopa and Miss City of Maricopa’s Outstanding Teen; and singing of the national anthem by Outside the Line. The event will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display.

As part of the celebration, a Kids Zone will feature inflatable slides and bouncers, along with carnival games. Wristbands for all-evening access to the Kids Zone are only $5 for children over the age of three (cash only). Children under the age of 2 are free and do not need a wristband.

As part of the celebration, the Copper Sky Aquatic Center will be open for families to keep cool in the pool. The cost of pool admission will be $10 per person (over the age of 3) for Copper Sky members, and $15 for non-members. Only a limited number of wristbands will be sold. Wristbands are available for purchase prior to the event at: http://bit.ly/2sW5BuX.

Guests will also have an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of food options, including the traditional Fourth of July fare of hot dogs and hamburgers, at a nominal cost from a variety of food vendors. In addition, Native Grill & Wings will host a beer garden for adults, and offer a Family 4th Pack, which will include a large pizza, two adult beverages and two regular beverages.

Those who would like to park on site will be charged $5 per car. VIP parking can also be purchased prior to the event, for $20, at http://bit.ly/2reC6De.

A complimentary shuttle service will be provided by City of Maricopa from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with shuttles temporarily stopping service at 8:15 p.m. so that everyone can enjoy the show. (The shuttles will resume after the fireworks.) The following seven pick-up locations are available throughout the city: Santa Rosa Elementary School, Santa Cruz Elementary School, Maricopa Wells Middle School, Butterfield Elementary School, Ace Hardware (ADA Access), Saddleback Elementary School and Maricopa Elementary School.
