Jazz vocalist René Marie combines an incredible voice with fiery independence and originality, bucking trends with her unabashed spirit. While she didn’t begin her professional music career until 41, Marie has accomplished more in two decades than most artists achieve in a lifetime. She has recorded thirteen albums, toured across the nation, and received two GRAMMY nominations, including Best Jazz Vocal Album for her latest release – Sound of Red.

Guided and tempered by powerful life lessons, including pursuing music over a turblulent marriage, and rooted in jazz traditions laid down by leading ladies of past generations, René Marie borrows various elements of folk, R&B, and even classical and country to create a captivating hybrid style.
