Teens and women from around the Valley will take a dip in the pool to fend off the heat in support of the Second Annual Girls Rule! Shine Brightly Teens and Women Summit and Luncheon.
The Girls Rule! Foundation – an Arizona-based nonprofit that hosts workshops and programs to empower teenage girls – will host the Teens and Women Pool Party on Saturday, July 20.
A $30 ticket to the event will include all day passes to the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa Oasis Water Park, a private catered lunch, endless photo booth seshes, a free mini back massage, door prizes and entertainment from the Phoenix Mercury Hip Hop Squad.
“Money raised from the pool party will help us continue to support a series of exciting educational and leadership programs for teen girls throughout Arizona,” said Dena Patton, executive director and co-founder of the Girls Rule! Foundation. “There is no substitute for a young girl who has strong self-esteem, clarity about her future and solid life skills to make her dreams come true.”
Although it’s not required, the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is offering a discounted overnight rate of $119 per night, including the resort fee, for that weekend.

Unfortunately, yesterday we decided to cancel the pool party. It wasn’t generating a lot of interest. We suspect it’s due to the time of year with a lot of people on vacation. However, mark your calendars for Sept. 21, 2013 for the Girls Rule! Shine Brightly Teens and Women Summit. It will gather 200 teen girls and their mothers, mentors and guardians to hear experts share about building and maintaining self-esteem, healthy life choices, skill building and goal setting. Lunch and entertainment, courtesy of the Phoenix Mercury, will be included in the cost (TBD).
