What good is a holiday without a from-scratch pie from Phoenix’s Rock Springs Cafe? Through Oct. 20, you can pre-order Rock Springs pies that will be available for pick up Oct. 23 at Moments Salon. (There will be a few cash-n-carry pies available on that day as well.) The best part? Not only do you get a very happy belly but proceeds will go to the Desert Mission Food Bank. The promotion is part of Make a Difference Day.
That’s not all that’s new in the pie world. Rock Springs Cafe has also started shipping their prized pies (except cream pies) to anywhere in the nation. That’s right: You don’t have to sweat it out in I-17 traffic to get your slice of Jack Daniels pecan pie. Some pies you might want to grace your holiday table: apple, peach, blueberry, cherry, rhubarb, Tennessee lemon, mixed berry crumb, apple crumb, peach crumb, blueberry crumb, cherry crumb, rhubarb crumb and pecan. (Cream varieties include banana, coconut, chocolate and lemon meringue.) Plus, pumpkin pies will be available for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday for about $16. Other pies range from $20 to $23. www.rockspringscafe.com.
