Grocery Great: LUNA and CLIF Bars

With the start of the school year comes rushing around in the morning to get to the drop-off line, scrambling for healthy after-school snacks and carting the kiddos to and from soccer practice and piano lessons. Oh, and homework. With some tasty new flavors of CLIF and LUNA bars now available, parents will at least have the snack portion of their daily routine taken care of.

CLIF Kid Zbar has introduced two new flavors: Caramel Chocolate and Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter. Though they taste like a dessert to kiddos, parents know these bars are organic and baked whole-grain energy snacks. These are the perfect grab-and-go eat so kids can get a boast of energy and nutrition post-homework and pre-practice.

For moms, LUNA (the first women’s nutrition bar) has unveiled new dessert-worthy flavors to its Whole Nutrition Bar lineup: Sea Salt Caramel and Creamy Dreamy Peanut Butter. They will give busy mamas plenty of energy; plus, they are gluten-free. The brand has also unveiled a brand new line, called LUNA Rica (pictured). LUNA Rica is meant to be indulgent to satisfy sweet cravings, so you might as well kiss your sugar-packed chocolate bars goodbye thanks to flavors like Chocolate Peanut Butter Chocolate Coconut Almond and Salted Caramel Nut. Rica bars are organic and made with real nut butters, organic fruits and nuts.

For parents craving a more fruit-forward snack, CLIF Fruit Smoothie Filled Energy Bars are available in three summery flavors:  Strawberry Banana, Wild Blueberry Acai and Tart Cherry Berry. These are particularly delicious at breakfast time because they are inspired classic smoothie ingredients and have a deliciously creamy filling to perk up the taste buds in the morning.

Another a.m. winner is new to the CLIF brand: CLIF Energy Granola. The new granola is crafted with organic oats, almonds, seeds, dried fruit and eight grams of plant-based protein. The Energy Granola is now currently available in four  flavors to satisfy just about any craving–Blueberry Crisp, Cinnamon Almond, Cocoa Almond and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut. The fruity options are delicious with a splash of almond milk or atop a smoothie bowl while the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut would add a great crunch a bowl of frozen yogurt.
