With shows like “Man vs. Food” taking over our TV screens, it seems like, when it comes to food, bigger is better–especially when charity is involved. To celebrate its 25 anniversary, one of Mesa’s top restaurant joints, T.C. Eggington’s is offering guests the gut-busting chance to eat a 25-egg omelet for charity this week. Until Friday, Nov. 19, for any person or group that eats the 25-egg omelet, T.C. Eggington’s will donate $50 in return to the East Valley Firefighter Charities. (Two teams of firefighters from East Valley Firefighter Charities will be in the restaurant Friday to attempt the omelet challenge themselves.)
If you’re a true egg fan–and that 25-egg omelet doesn’t satisfy your hunger enough–Hickman’s Eggs (egg supplier to T.C. Eggington’s) is even offering customers a chance to win free eggs for an entire year.
Fun T.C. Eggington’s egg facts: The restaurant uses an average of 800 eggs a day during the week (all purchased locally through Hickman’s Family Farms), and 2,400 eggs on weekends. That’s more than 8,000 every week, or nearly 10.5 million eggs in the 25 years T.C.’s has been serving up eggs. http://www.tcegg.com/.
