Scottsdale’s dining scene has earned another major accolade, with Pinyon Coastal Mediterranean being named the No. 1 Mediterranean restaurant in the United States by Yelp Elites.
The Old Town restaurant claimed the top spot on Yelp Elites’ “Top 25 Mediterranean Restaurants Worth the Epic Journey” list, making it the only Arizona restaurant recognized in the national ranking. The honor comes less than a year after Pinyon opened its doors, further cementing both the restaurant’s growing reputation and Scottsdale’s status as one of the country’s premier culinary destinations.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from Yelp Elite reviewers, guests who are incredibly passionate about discovering and sharing exceptional dining experiences,” said Adam Strecker, CEO and founding partner of Hi Noon Hospitality. “From the beginning, our vision for Pinyon was to create a restaurant that captures the warmth, generosity and flavors of the entire Mediterranean region while delivering the level of hospitality our guests have come to expect. To be recognized as the No. 1 Mediterranean restaurant on this list is an incredible honor and a testament to our entire team’s dedication.”

Yelp Elites’ annual list is driven by the platform’s most active and experienced reviewers, whose recommendations spotlight restaurants they believe are truly worth traveling to experience. Earning the No. 1 ranking places Pinyon among the country’s most celebrated dining destinations and highlights the restaurant’s ability to deliver food and hospitality in equal measure.
Located along Scottsdale Civic Center Park, Pinyon celebrates the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean by drawing inspiration from more than 20 countries bordering the sea. The menu emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients and dishes designed to be shared, embracing the Mediterranean philosophy that great meals are best enjoyed around the table with family and friends.
Guests can expect an array of house-made breads, colorful hummuses, open-flame grilled seafood and meats, seasonal vegetables and fresh raw bar selections.
The beverage program complements the cuisine with handcrafted cocktails, refreshing spritzes and an extensive wine list highlighting Mediterranean grape varietals and winemaking traditions.
