There’s a thing called “bang for your buck” and that’s exactly what’s going on at Scottsdale’s BLT Steak. The Scottsdale steakhouse is offering their “5 at 5” menu featuring five delectable dishes and a menu of specialty cocktails, draft beer and wine, all for just $5 each. From 5 to 7 p.m. nightly, seasonal menu selections include BBQ Pork Sliders with apple slaw and ménage cheddar, Wellfleet Clams Casino with chervil, bacon and butter crust, Spring Country Pate with tarragon mustard and grilled baguette, and the Chef’s Daily Bruschetta. Special hand-crafted cocktails include a Strawberry Mule made with vodka, ginger beer and strawberries or a Desert Gin & Sin with Old Tom Gin, prickly pear, orange juice and lemon. Wine selections include a sustainable Parducci white wine blend as well as a local Four Peaks 8th St. Ale from Tempe.
I recently had the chance to dig in to BLT Steak’s 5 for $5 menu, and I like what I tasted! BLT Steak’s rock shrimp was a favorite, followed by the delish barbecue sliders (you get two nice-sized slider for the price). As for the happy hour cocktails, the fruity Tequila Bramble was amazing! 5402 E Lincoln Dr., Scottsdale, 480.905.7979, http://www.bltscottsdale.com/.
