Wine lovers have another reason to celebrate Arizona’s dining scene. Wine Spectator, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities, has announced the winners of its 2026 Restaurant Awards, recognizing 4,012 restaurants across the globe for excellence in wine service and curated wine programs.
The awards, launched in 1981, celebrate restaurants that demonstrate the highest standards in wine service across three prestigious categories: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. This year, 2,083 restaurants received the Award of Excellence, 1,830 earned the Best of Award of Excellence and just 99 achieved the coveted Grand Award designation.

Among this year’s standout honorees are several Arizona restaurants that continue to showcase the state’s growing reputation for dining and world-class wine. Their recognition reflects a commitment to wine lists, knowledgeable service and pairings that enhance every meal.
Earning the Award of Excellence are Belmont Kitchen & Cocktails and Quiessence. According to Wine Spectator, this distinction recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature at least 75 selections, offering a well-chosen assortment of quality producers that complement the menu in style and price.
Receiving the Best of Award of Excellence are Virtu Honest Craft and all three Mastro’s restaurants. This honor recognizes restaurants with extensive wine programs that typically feature 350 or more selections, showcasing impressive depth across multiple regions and producers. These establishments distinguish themselves not only through exceptional cellars but also through knowledgeable service teams.
This year’s awards serve as another reminder that some of the country’s most celebrated experiences can be found close to home.
