Something evil is lurking in the dark, and it’s headed straight for Lakeside Bar & Grill. For the 18th year, Peoria’s neighborhood favorite is bringing Halloween to life with its annual “Nightmare at Lakeside” celebration on October 24. The daylong event will feature family activities, a kid’s “Thriller” dance lesson, Halloween-themed drinks, live music and a late-night costume contest with cash prizes.
The family-friendly festivities begin at 11 a.m. with crafts, painting and activities for kids, followed by the dance lesson at 1 p.m. Kids eat free between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and the dog-friendly patio means the whole family, including four-legged members, can join the fun.
“We wanted to make Nightmare at Lakeside something the whole family could enjoy, from the daytime activities to the nighttime adults only party,” General Manager Jeremiah Gracia said.
As the sun goes down, the “Nightmare at Lakeside” theme takes over. Different areas of the restaurant will transform into scenes inspired by classic 1980s horror movies, setting a spooky mood for the evening. Halloween cocktails and drink specials will be available throughout the celebration.
From 7:30 to 11 p.m., Life on Rewind will take the stage blasting 1980s rock and Halloween favorites. Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion, with the costume contest beginning at 11 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded in three categories: Best Overall Costume, Best ’80s/Horror Costume and Best Couple/Group Costume.
Known for its casual atmosphere, family-friendly dining and welcoming neighborhood feel, Lakeside Bar & Grill has been a gathering spot for Peoria residents since opening in 2008. To see what’s lurking at Lakeside, visit lakesidebarandgrillaz.com.
