Foundress Fridays: Suzi Freeman, CEO of Elite Minds

Suzi Freeman is the CEO of Elite Minds, and the creator of the teen warrior box.

“I run a teen mentorship program & host teen retreats. The program is designed to bring awareness to mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and suicide. Bringing awareness, providing knowledge teaching modalities, skills and techniques to the teens will ultimately reduce suicidal ideation and save lives. I host two day retreats for teens that have been affected by suicide or mental health struggles. I will be launching the Teen Warrior Box in September. This is packed with fun items, tools and digital master classes to help bridge the communication gap between parents and teens on suicide and mental health”

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
SF: Not initially. I realized it when I was a senior in high school after my dad started his business. I knew I would own my own business one day for the flexibility it offered.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
SF: I love having the freedom to do what makes my heart happy. I love having the ability to work the business with my children; my 11 year-old twin daughters work the business with me.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
SF: Having a small group of go to business besties, it is so important and crucial to me and my business.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?
SF: Do what makes you happy, the rest will fall in alignment.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
SF: Sitting on my couch sipping my coffee, looking out the windows at all the trees and daydreaming.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
SF: The purpose and reasoning behind my work. If I had a program similar to what I offer teens when I was a teen, I bet I would not have struggled with suicidal ideation as an adult.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
Make sure your business fills your heart, not just your bank account.
