Foundress Fridays: Lizzy Brooks, CEO & Owner of Virtually Brooks

Lizzy Brooks is the CEO and Owner of Virtually Brooks

“Virtually Brooks is a Virtual Assistant Agency. Our Virtually Brooks Assistant’s provide continuous high-quality support to C-Suite professionals, small to midsize business owners, and successful entrepreneurs. We focus on serving Attorneys, CPA’s, Bookkeepers, CFO’s, Insurance Agents, Financial Advisors, Trade Industries, and more.”

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
LB: When I was working in the corporate world and feeling stuck in the mundane lifestyle that boxed me in from freedom and flexibility, I knew something needed to change. I started soul searching for opportunities. Knowing that I couldn’t start an Etsy business like many of my friends at the time (because I’m far from crafty), I was introduced to the Virtual Assistant world. That’s where I knew I could use my corporate strengths and apply them to a world that allowed my entrepreneurial desires to come to life.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
LB: Knowing that not only family but 30+ assistant’s have livelihoods that depend on this job helps motivate Virtually Brooks to keep pushing and striving for better every single day.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?
LB: Everything happens for a reason.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
LB: I feel best supported by friends and clients that send us referrals and connections. People who share willingly about the work and people they trust is the ultimate compliment. It’s free yet helps provide our team opportunities that impact on such a deeper level.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
LB: Being able to support my family’s needs, specifically my young babies, while providing financially all while having the freedom and flexibility to create the life I desire.

AZF: What’s one piece advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
LB: Follow your instincts. You don’t have to know every aspect of creating or maintaining a business. If you allow yourself to dive in, you’ll figure it out along the way. Be resourceful and create a network and community around you. Embrace the squeeze because there is growth that comes from growing pains. Be confident in your decisions and know that not every choice will be a home run but every choice will be a stepping stone that leads you through a beautiful experience.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
LB: A perfect Saturday morning would involve, sleeping in inside a luxuriously comfortable bed, near a beautiful beach, walking to breakfast with my family, while enjoying a freshly cooked and warm meal outside on a patio with a peaceful view.
