Foundress Fridays: Jillian Clothier, Owner of Jillian Clothier Coaching

Jillian Clothier is the owner of Jillian Clothier Coaching. Clothier is a “coach and mentor for women who know they are made for more… in their life, their relationships, their health, and their business. I teach women how to live in alignment, and how to show up for themselves first, so they can show up for their lives, their relationships, and their businesses – present and without guilt. I offer high touch one-on-one coaching, group coaching, and fully immersive in-person retreats.”

AZF: What is your “life motto”?
JC: “Choose YOU. When you rise, everything in your life rises. Let it be light.”

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?
JC: “I’ve always known I wanted to own my own business. My husband and I opened our first business – a juice & smoothie bar – in our early 20’s, while I was still working full time in corporate, and that was just the beginning of our entrepreneurial journey. I’ll never forget the feeling I had walking out on my final day of my corporate job after 15 years, knowing that I would never go back. I loved the people, I loved leading teams, I loved problem solving and helping others… so to now run a business where I get to do all of that, while also being fully present to my family and my life, feels like the gift of a life time.”

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
JC: “I take really, really good care of myself. My physical, mental, and emotional health is at the forefront of my life. It’s what I teach my clients and it’s what allows me to show up so well for the things and people that matter most to me. I am blessed to have a deeply supportive husband and family, as well as a strong network of women around me, through the Foundress and beyond. I also have an incredible coach, and I love being a coach who has a coach – always learning, always growing.”

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
JC: “Impact. I have the belief that the impact of coaching is generational and ripples far beyond anything I could ever imagine… one person changing their life, relationships, or businesses through this work changes hundreds or thousands of lives. When things get hard, I remember that there’s more in the journey than the destination… enjoy the process and find growth in it all.”

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
JC: “I love this question because my Saturday morning looks much like all the other mornings. I take time every single morning to slowly drink my coffee, to check in with myself. I watch the sunrise, I meditate, I move my body. I read or journal. Choosing YOU is the message I teach my clients and for so many of us, that means filling our own cup before we pour into others. My mornings are my sacred time to do just that.”

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
JC: “Hire a coach 😉 Learn how support your brain, your body, your heart. Learn how to show up for yourself FIRST. Pouring into your business, your family, your kids, your life gets to feel AMAZING when you are fulfilled, when you are cared for. Ask for help when you need it – you don’t have to do it alone. Okay, that’s more than one piece… but they go all hand in hand!”

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
JC: “I have been an entrepreneur on and off since my early 20’s, but what excites me the most about my business today is that it is fully aligned with my gifts and my purpose, and I spend my days helping other women change their lives! Entrepreneurship is a deep personal growth journey in disguise if we let it be… and it’s one that can deliver you to the truest, highest version of yourself. That is what is has done for me, and the freedom and peace that comes with a fully aligned business is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Watching and helping other women create this for themselves is the gift that keeps on giving.”
