Foundress Fridays: Emily Stead, Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner™

Emily Stead is the owner of ByMethod Financial Collective and is a Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner™.

“I’m a financial planner that works one-on-one with families, young professionals and small business owners to uncover their personal financial goals, and help structure and execute a plan to get them on track to try to achieve these goals. I work with people to try to balance the financial future they’d like to build without sacrificing their lifestyle today.”

AZF: What is your “life motto”?
ES: What you give comes back to you.

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
ES: I think a small part of me always knew, but what that means in practice has been something that continues to look different and evolve over time.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
ES: I love being surrounded by excitement! I try to fill my social circle and my professional network with excited and energetic people.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
ES: I’m lucky that my practice provides me the ability to see a tangible impact in my clients’ lives.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
ES: My perfect Saturday morning would be taking a long early morning walk with my puppy Voltaggio to go get some coffee from Peixoto, and then either hitting the farmers market or a morning class at Rumble Boxing afterward.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
ES: To embrace being uncomfortable, because I have experienced the most growth and personal and professional development in situations where I was most uncomfortable.
