Age: 39

Title: Owner and Operator, FACE FOUNDRIÉ Phoenix + Peoria

Married/Single: Married

Kids: We have three kiddos: 8, 7 and 3! They keep us busy with theater, art, baseball and soccer! But my favorite is when we slow down and just enjoy time together.

City you live in: Phoenix

A typical day in my life includes… While I would say everyday is genuinely unique given what’s on the agenda and to-do’s I have to tackle, all mornings start with coffee! A core value we have at FACE FOUNDRIÉ is that everyone, no matter how busy their routines are, need to make time for self-care. Actually doing that isn’t always easy, but it’s always the best investment you can make. The mornings are a time for me to set aside time for myself with yoga or a walk, focus on my family and prioritize my goals. These rituals help shift my mindset, provide balance and prepare for the day ahead. After the kids go off to school, I’ll work from home for a bit then visit one of our FACE FOUNDRIÉ locations. When I’m at one of our facial bars, I’ll review marketing strategies with my team, check in on operations, and greet clients as they come in (which is one of my favorite parts of the day!).  After I leave, I typically run a few errands before picking up the kids and driving them to their activities.  We usually end the day with family dinner and start preparing to repeat it all over again tomorrow!

I was born… In St. Paul, Minnesota.

My favorite thing about Arizona… the landscapes, weather and proximity to so many beautiful places, but for me what really stands out is the community here. Especially how encouraging and enthusiastic people are investing in small businesses. As a business owner, it’s really refreshing to feel supported by customers, community leaders and neighboring businesses at both of our Valley locations.

I’m listening to… pretty much every genre of music with the exception of metal. I really enjoy podcasts as well! My favorites are the Mel Robbins Podcast and the Goal Digger Podcast.

My family… is my why! My husband has been incredibly supportive since we started this entrepreneurial journey nearly three years ago. It is so fun to build this team and have my kids involved in the process of the hard work and grit it takes to grow a successful business with fulfilled employees!

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Stevie Nicks + Paul Rudd.

One thing I cannot live without… music. As a lifelong dancer and music lover, it gets me through the rough patches and continues to motivate me in all aspects of my life!

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a marine biologist.

I’m inspired by… Entrepreneurs. As a business owner and entrepreneur myself, I feel inspired by hearing their journeys, what motivates them, and how they maintain balance in their lives.

The person/people who motivate(s) me is/are… My husband and kids are my biggest cheerleaders and make me want to be the best version of myself. My mom and grandma are incredibly inspiring to me as well. I’m a third generation female entrepreneur and they both helped pave the way to show me anything is possible!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… that I could slow or stop time. It’s so easy to get caught up in daily life and miss out on the little things. I’m working to be more intentional with this and NOT multitasking and giving undivided attention. But even in all these efforts, I blink and another year goes by and my kids get bigger and older. I would love to put a pause button on life sometimes to really soak it in.

The perfect day would be… any day spent in Italy! Delicious coffee in the morning, watching the sunrise, casual walks, time for reading, eating incredible food and soaking in history- all with those I love.

My first job was… working retail at Dayton’s in the Junior’s section (it’s a Minnesota- based department store, which is no longer in existence).

My favorite escape… anytime spent outdoors without a phone. I also love cooking or being immersed in a book!

My life… is extremely fulfilling! I found my transition from corporate America to entrepreneurship to be the best choice I ever made. It’s hard work, but it is absolutely worth it. I admire my team like crazy, and am endlessly grateful for my support system to help make this dream happen. I could never have done this without them.

I’m currently working on… growing the FACE FOUNDRIÉ brand in the Valley!

Always… look on the bright side. There is something that can be learned from any difficult situation or challenge.

Never… make the same mistake three times. I give a freebie because we all need grace in our lives, but if something is a recurring issue – you need to take charge and make a change. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result.

Favorite Quote… comparison is the thief of joy. – Theodore Roosevelt

This reminds me to focus on my own journey and what brings me fulfillment. If you are comparing yourself to others and you admire them, learn from them – what is it you love? What are things you can do to get where they are? Use comparison as a tool to improve yourself!

Biggest Dream… to have a significant impact in our local community and bring others joy! I believe that doing simple things for others can ripple to so many. The goal is to always invest in yourself so you can positively impact others.

My Pet Peeve(s)… complaining. Whether it pertains to business or your personal life, if you have a complaint, you also have the power to make a change.  The biggest factor is knowing what you can control and working with your family, friends, peers or leaders productively to make shifts that positively impact everyone!
